Historian and author B\u00fclent \u015eenocak<\/strong> was born on November 29, 1954, in \u0130zmir, Turkey. He\nreceived his early education at \u0130zmir Saint Joseph French Secondary School and \u0130zmir Private Fatih\nCollege. He graduated from the Department of Finance at Istanbul University Faculty of Business\nAdministration in 1978 and earned a degree in History from Anadolu University Open Education\nFaculty in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beginning his professional career in the industrial sector, \u015eenocak held senior executive positions at\nhis family-owned company, Klimasan Inc., until 1994. In the following years, he served as the\nTurkey representative for several Italian companies operating in the film and packaging industries.\nWith the aim of pursuing his work in publishing, he founded \u015eenocak Publishing in 2008. Until\n2013, he published 80 books and seven issues of the journal \u0130zmir: History and Society. In 2008,\n\u0130zmir: History and Society was awarded the Respect for History and Local Preservation Award\nby the \u0130zmir Metropolitan Municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actively engaged in civil society, \u015eenocak founded the Aegean Young Business People Association\n(EG\u0130AD) in 1990 and served as its president for two years. In 1993, he assumed the role of National\nPresident of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Turkey and remains a member of the JCI and JCI\nTurkey Senate. He served as President of the Alsancak Rotary Club in 2009. He is among the\nfounders of the \u0130zmir Institute of Technology Foundation (\u0130YTEV), the Aegean Foundation for the\nDevelopment of the Economy (EGEV), and the Human, Friendship, and Benevolence Foundation.\nHe is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Social Solidarity and Happy Retirement\nFoundation (SEV) and the Foundation for Children in Need of Protection (KORUNCUK). He\nfounded the \u0130zmir Culture and History Platform and served for many years as Chairman of its\nExecutive Board. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u015eenocak began his literary career with research and analytical works. His first book, Izmir, the Star\nof the Levant \u2013 Levantines, Greeks, Armenians, and Jews, was published in 2003. The fifth edition\nof the book was released by Yak\u0131n Publishing House and received the Respect for History and\nLocal Preservation Award from the \u0130zmir Metropolitan Municipality in 2008. The Greek\ntranslation of the work was published in Thessaloniki by Epikentro Publishing House in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Published in 2013, The Humanized God is a philosophical essay. His novel Broken on Dream\nRoads, published by GOA Publishing in 2013, was translated into English by Brendan Freely under\nthe title Shattered Dreams and released by Amazon KDP in 2014. The Arabic translation was\npublished in Egypt in 2016, followed by the Italian translation in Italy in 2022. His novel Blood\nLibel, first published in 2017, is his most recent work of fiction; its second edition was released by\nYak\u0131n Publishing House in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His urban memory study Sad\u0131kbey \u2013 If Mansions Could Speak was published by Yak\u0131n Publishing\nHouse in 2022 and subsequently adapted into a documentary film. The documentary has been\nscreened at various festivals and competitions. His biographical work What Remains in This World:\nThe Life Story of Cem Bakio\u011flu focuses on the life of a prominent businessman from \u0130zmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

B\u00fclent \u015eenocak is married, has one daughter, and is the grandfather of two. He is fluent in English\nand French and has an intermediate command of German.
